Description of an architectural work

            This paper explores the artistic work in India under the building of Lotus Temples. Further it shall contextualize art forms, sculptures, drawing and painting, and crafts work in the church. Additionally, the paper shall discuss much to with brain behind the building of the temple.

Lotus temple

One of the most seven Mashriqs around the globe by 21st century was the Lotus temple. The temple was consecrated and officially opened in 1986. This temple was designed by Fariborz Sahba, an Iranian architect. One of his significant success apart from the magnificent temple, he won acclaim for the architectural project just before the completion of the temple. Purposefully, the temple was to be the primary center of worship for the Indians. In the Delphi city center, is the flower like building with seventy-two free-standing marble fluted petals carefully arranged in a triple to constellate a nonagon shape (Bang 2016).Moreover, the building consists of several doors that lead one to the main hall. Perhaps, one may argue that it motherly served as the main temple in India, notably, for its petal flute shape, the temple became one of the significant scenic beauties in the city; furthermore, the temple is open for everyone despite their religion or any qualification.

Sculpture in Lotus Temple

Plastic materials are always worked into a three-dimensional art feature, known as sculpture. A sculpture design is still embodied in freestanding objects or on surfaces. One of the statues selected for contestation is Moses indigent at the golden calf, the work of William Blake created in 1800 in London. Ultimately, the sculpture symbolized Christianity worship, Old Testament scene demonstrations. Victoriously, the sculpture has demonstrated a scenario where Moses was on the mountain interceding with God while the Israelites were busy worshiping the golden calf they made. William, who was a poet, painter, and scriptwriter, links his sculpture to worship of idols in Egypt during the reign of king Pharaoh. Additionally, he was a native of London who lived from 1757 to 1827. As such, Egyptians practiced bull worship which commonly believed the Israelites God was a bull-deity. Moreover, the sculpture symbolizes the essence of prayer in India as many people would come from every country to commune. 

                                       Drawing and paintings at Lotus

 Painting or drawing require different techniques and type application of media such as the use of popular media in performing. Varieties of the materials are used in drawing these may include; charcoal, graphite pencil, lead-oil paint, chalk, airbrush. Additionally, these equipment are essential in putting a mark in the space; rust, soy, mud, human hair and blood, garlic, sauce,  coconut juice and staple wire. It is the reason as to why some artists draw before painting. Arguably, it is done to get a clear overview of how they will do their art; therefore, artists draw to have the roadmap of their work. Painting and drawing skills are a connection in that for an artist to produce a better painting, and they usually need first to draw.

Craft media

            Many artists use a lot of craft media to better their artworks. These include textile craft and woodcraft in which woodcraft was created by Leslie Paul in 1924 from London. The textile craft were designed by Henry Fredric and Robert Peake both from India. The craft art was established in 1610. Essentialy, the woodcraft educated people on how to make sculptures with the use of natural material (Ravetz et al., 2013).On the other hand; Textile craft was to increase creativity among the Indians. Therefore, my skills and creativity improve with studying the forms of craft media.          


In sum, virtual reality environment increases ones view about different sculptures in different dimensions. I have contextualized architectural work, sculpture, drawings and paintings, and craft media, all these give a clear picture if the virtual reality environment in India.
