Robot and Jobs

With the advancements in technology, robots are being used in various fields to help humans in doing their tasks. Many people believe that robots will replace humans in future but also other people hold a conflicting view that robots cannot do the jobs that humans can do. Therefore, the use of robots in the workplace is rising but I believe the robots cannot replace humans.

Importance of Robots at the Workplace

Robots at the workplace are transforming things since they are doing tasks faster and efficiently than humans.

  • The main point is that robots are transforming the workplace and using them may lead to improved profits and productivity in the long run.

      • The information can be found in the Directory of Open Access Journals in ABI/INFORM Collection
  • The other point is that having robots at the workplaces is much cheaper in terms of cost than having humans and even now their cost is decreasing.
    • Supporting Research
    • The information can be found in the Nursing and Allied Health Database
  • Moreover, the robots are always active and do not get tired like humans. They can also be used in workplaces involving chemical spills which could pose a health concern to the humans.

Disadvantages of robots at the Workplace

Despite being important, robots have also negatively affected operations at the workplaces in that they have led to increased unemployment rates and also created unsafe working environments.

  • The main point is that robots are transforming the workplace but using them also affects the workplace in that they can make people lose jobs or fail to be hired to do the tasks
    • Supporting Research
      • The information can be found in the Directory of Open Access Journals in ABI/INFORM Collection
  • The other point is that the robots can only handle the tasks they have been told to handle and fail to handle situations that arise unexpectedly.
    • Supporting Research
    • The information can be found in the Nursing and Allied Health Database
  • Moreover, the robots are not intelligent like the humans thus they cannot improve jobs apart from their pre-defined programming.
    • Supporting Research
  • The information can also be found in the Directory of Open Access Journals in ABI/INFORM Collection.

Humans are better than Robots

Even though robots are transforming the workplace, humans are still better than them thus they cannot be fully replaced.

  • Humans are flexible and can adapt to any changes at the workplaces. Robots only follow programmed instructions thus cannot adapt to unexpected conditions at the workplace.
    • Supporting Research
      • The source of the information comes from ProQuest Central
  • Robots are great at doing what they have been instructed to do but cannot find a new purpose. People can take up new tasks and find a way to be useful but robots will always have challenges in finding ways on how to be useful if they are not needed.
    • Supporting Research
      • The information can be found in the Directory of Open Access Journals in ABI/INFORM Collection

Humans are good at making emotional connections between each other and robots cannot do so because they only have artificial intelligence that lacks feelings, thoughts and emotions.
