Alzheimer’s is a chronic neurodegenerative condition that begins slowly and gradually gets worse with time. This disease has many effects on personal behaviour and brain hence losing the memory of certain events. Alzheimer’s contributes to most cases of dementia. Some of the prominent aspects of this disease are the loss of consciousness (Alzheimer’s, A., 2015). Someone with Alzheimer’s is faced with difficulties in remembering things that have happened recently. Since this condition starts slowly with recognizing challenges as the first symptom, more symptoms are developed over time. The behaviour of an individual change once they have Alzheimer’s disease. Other symptoms of this disease include; mood changes, lack of motivation, disorientation in language and directions. This disease makes someone reckless and able to organize themselves in the right manner. With the above symptoms, a person living with Alzheimer’s disconnects themselves from family and friends. This disease affects the brain of a person. Since the brain coordinates the functioning of all other body parts, once it is damaged as a result of the disease, the victims die. Carrying out physical exercise is useful in preventing the risk of this disease. One of the preventive methods of this disease is through diet. It is believed that by keeping a healthy diet of Japanese and Mediterranean reduces the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. There are particular foods such as tea and coffee that help prevent this disease.

Progressive muscle relaxation is a technique used to tense and relaxes the body muscles alternatively, thus reducing stress. Preventing stress helps mitigate the risks of Alzheimer’s disease.
