Part A

It is an interesting story where Caroll brings out the character Alice in different events. In the story, there are events which are critical like when Alice goes down the rabbit hole, the view of a special garden, drinking from a mystery drink and shrinks, eating a cake and growing large, the scene of a girl and making a pool of teats in the room and falling in the same pool and getting wet. In the story, the instance where she fell in down a hole, Alice went into a deep thought and she wonders, ‘After such a fall as this, I shall think nothing of tumbling downstairs! The sentences used in the story that can be arranged in haiku form are’ There were doors all round the hall, but they were all locked when Alice had been all the way down one side and up the other.

Part B

In the story, the author-narrator uses different genres like fiction which is classified as literature or children’s fantasy. In this, he was a genius when it came to writing a vivid imagination. However, the exposition in the story is where Alice sits with her sister in a daze, spots a dressed-up rabbit, and follows it which leads to the fall in the hole. From this scene, the rising action is when she finds a door leading to a special garden and ends up drinking from a bottle labeled ‘drink me’, and she starts shrinking to fit the door. The story climaxes when Alice pulls the table cloth goes to pick up the Red Queen which starts shaking her. However, the falling action is seen when she realizes it was a dream and she was just shaking one of the kittens. The scenes leading to the ending of the story where Alice tells her sister of the curious dream of wonderland.

Alice definitely becomes the protagonist where the Red Queen becomes the antagonist of the story. Alice being the main character of the story, has important traits where she is slow in stages, reasonableness, and has a sense of responsibility among others. The traits are brought out by the setting of the story where Caroll uses a fantasy world which is an effective way to bring out the themes. In this, the events are chosen by the writer also contribute to the setting of the story which creates a tense and cheerful mood. This is evident where she finds a bottle and wants to drink from it. At first, she was tensed since she didn’t know whether it was poison and secondly, she is excited when the drink starts shrinking her and she can fit at the door.
